Blood and Ore

You are stationed as a detective on an off-world mining and trading outpost at the edge of explored space.

The case you have been working started out as a missing person. All that changed five minutes ago when a cryptic voice message was forwarded to your desk.

If your instincts are true then it’s only a matter of time before a body shows up.

It’s now up to you to find the clues that will unravel what has happened…

GAMEPLAY

Blood & Ore is a solitaire pen and paper roleplaying game in which you’ll assume the role of a detective and attempt to complete an investigation.

In addition to these rules you’ll need:

• Polyhedral dice: 2d4, 2d6, 2d8, 2d10, 2d12, 1d20
• Standard deck of playing cards (jokers removed)
• Paper to take notes
• Pen or pencil

Throughout the game, you’ll draw cards to determine what you encounter as you search for clues.

• Face cards (K, Q, J): Clues
• Hearts: Rests
• Diamonds: Tools
• Spades and Clubs: Snags

For each card, you’ll look up the result on the corresponding list in the rules and then resolve the encounter following the instructions for the encounter type.

Some encounters require a ‘skill check’ by rolling dice.

At the end of the game, your success at resolving clues will make deducing what happened easier or harder.
